Process & approach.
Objective
Packaging is the first handshake between a brand and its customer. ProPlenish came with a full product line that needed to be presented visually — individual product packets, their retail boxes, and the broader brand identity that ties everything together. The goal was not just accurate renders, but renders that made the packaging feel as premium as the product inside it. And the material they chose for their packaging — a very specific paper stock with its own texture, weight, and character — made that a harder problem than it sounds.
Process
Reference images and packaging files were supplied by the client, but every 3D model was built from scratch. Getting the geometry right on packaging is its own discipline — clean folds, accurate die-lines, the way a box sits and reads from different angles. But the real challenge on this project was the material work. ProPlenish's packaging used a specific paper stock, and replicating it demanded more than a generic paper shader. The texture, the subtle surface grain, the way that particular material diffuses light rather than reflecting it — all of it had to be studied, developed, and refined until it matched what the client held in their hands. Generic would not have been good enough, and the client would have known immediately. Once the materials were right, the renders were built out across the full product line — individual packets and retail boxes — with lighting setups that kept the brand feeling cohesive from one product to the next.
Outcome
ProPlenish walked away with a complete visual library for their product line — renders that communicate brand consistency, material quality, and packaging craftsmanship across every SKU. The paper texture specificity that made this project challenging became its defining quality: renders that don't just show the packaging, but make you feel like you could pick it up.
