Process & approach.
Objective
Industrial equipment has a perception problem. A PLC controller sits at the nerve center of an entire manufacturing operation managing motor speeds, regulating voltage, coordinating real-time data across machines yet it looks like a box on a wall. The brief was to change that. To create a cinematic 3D animation that made the intelligence inside the hardware visible, giving engineers and buyers a reason to stop and pay attention to what this controller actually does.
Process
Every component was modeled from scratch, which meant the hardware details had to be researched and built with the precision the audience industrial engineers would immediately scrutinize. Surface quality, port placement, panel construction nothing that looked approximate would survive that crowd. The animation strategy centered on making invisible features visible. Automatic speed handling, voltage regulation, real-time process monitoring, IIoT connectivity these are not things you can simply point a camera at. So the camera work was designed to guide the viewer deliberately: smooth, unhurried movements that settled on key components at the exact moment a feature callout or visual cue brought it to life. The pacing was kept calm and confident, because the product didn't need drama it needed clarity.
Outcome
The final animation reframed a technical hardware product as something worth understanding rather than simply specifying. By translating complex smart features into a clear, cinematic visual language, the client gained a presentation tool capable of communicating product intelligence to both technical and non-technical audiences on a trade show floor, in a pitch deck, or anywhere the product needs to speak for itself.
